Mô tả sản phẩm

Push Back Racking System

High-Density Storage Solution for Faster Throughput and Better Space Utilization

A Push Back Racking System is a high-density pallet storage solution engineered to maximize warehouse capacity while maintaining fast and efficient pallet handling. Using a gravity-fed cart system on inclined rails, push back racking allows multiple pallets to be stored deep in a single lane while providing direct access from one aisle.

Unlike traditional selective racking, forklifts never enter the rack structure, reducing product damage, improving safety, and increasing operational efficiency.

How Push Back Racking Works

Push back racking operates on a Last-In, First-Out (LIFO) inventory principle.

Loading Process

  • Pallets are loaded from the front aisle
  • Each new pallet pushes the previous pallet backward
  • Nested carts move smoothly along inclined rails

Unloading Process

  • When the front pallet is removed, gravity automatically moves the remaining pallets forward to the picking position
  • No manual repositioning is required
  • Faster pallet retrieval improves warehouse productivity

This system typically stores 2–6 pallets deep per lane, dramatically increasing storage density compared to selective pallet racking.

Key Business Benefits

Higher Storage Density

Reduce aisle space and increase pallet positions within the same warehouse footprint. Push back racking can significantly improve storage capacity without expanding the building.

Faster Forklift Operations

All loading and unloading occur from a single aisle, reducing forklift travel time and improving throughput efficiency.

Reduced Product and Rack Damage

Because forklifts do not drive into the rack structure, the risk of rack impact and pallet damage is minimized.

Improved Warehouse Productivity

Gravity-assisted pallet movement speeds up pallet handling and reduces operator effort.

Lower Operating Costs

Better cube utilization and faster pallet movement help reduce labor costs and optimize warehouse ROI.

Ideal Applications

Push back racking is ideal for warehouses requiring high-density storage with multiple SKU access, including:

  • Food and beverage distribution
  • Cold storage facilities
  • Retail and FMCG warehouses
  • Manufacturing storage
  • Bulk pallet storage
  • Medium-turnover inventory environments

It performs especially well in facilities where warehouse space is expensive and operational efficiency is critical.

Important Considerations

While push back racking delivers major space and efficiency advantages, it is best suited for specific operational requirements:

  • Operates on a LIFO inventory system
  • Requires consistent pallet dimensions and weights
  • Initial investment is higher than standard selective racking
  • Best suited for medium SKU variety and medium-turn inventory

Example of Push Back Storage

A 4-deep push back lane stores four pallets in sequence:

  1. First pallet loaded moves to the rear
  2. Additional pallets push previous pallets backward
  3. The last pallet loaded becomes the first pallet retrieved

This makes push back racking ideal for products without strict FIFO rotation requirements.

Why Warehouses Choose Push Back Racking

Companies invest in push back racking to achieve:

  • More pallet positions without warehouse expansion
  • Faster loading and unloading operations
  • Better warehouse cube utilization
  • Lower forklift travel time
  • Improved operational safety
  • Strong long-term return on investment

For warehouses balancing storage density, accessibility, and operational efficiency, push back racking provides a highly effective and scalable solution.
